Import & assign your
ringtone.

Move it to the Ringtones folder

1. Swipe up on your unlocked phone and open My Files
2. Tap Audio under Categories
3. Scroll down and open Download
4. Find your ringtone and select it — hold your finger on the file name for about a second
5. Tap Move in the bottom-left corner
6. Tap the Back arrow (top left) to exit the Download folder
7. Open the Ringtone folder in the Audio Files menu
8. Tap Move Here in the bottom-right corner

Set it as your ringtone

1. Open Settings
2. Select Sounds and Vibration
3. Open the Ringtone menu
4. Tap + in the upper-right corner
5. The Ringtones menu opens
6. Use Search (top right) or the bottom navigation to find your ringtone in Device Folders
7. Imported ringtones appear under Custom
8. Select it by tapping the radio button to its left

Assign it to a contact

1. Open Contacts on your phone
2. Select a contact to open the Info menu
3. Tap the Edit icon at the bottom
4. Select View more to expand categories
5. Scroll to Ringtone and open the Ringtones menu
6. Choose a ringtone under Custom (tap the red minus to remove one)

No ringtones listed yet? Tap + in the Ringtones menu and pick your file with the Sound Picker.

Save the ringtone to your phone

1. After checkout, tap the Download Ringtone button
2. Open Files by Google or your phone's Files app
3. Open Downloads and confirm that the MP3 is saved

Set it as your ringtone

1. Open Settings
2. Tap Sound & vibration
3. Tap Phone ringtone
4. Choose My Sounds, Add ringtone, or +
5. Select the downloaded MP3 and save your choice

Menu names can vary slightly by phone manufacturer and Android version.

Assign it to a contact

1. Open your Contacts app and choose a contact
2. Tap Edit or the three-dot menu
3. Tap Set ringtone or Ringtone
4. Select the downloaded MP3 and save

Some Android phones do not support contact-specific ringtones in the default Contacts app.
